BlackBerry Settles Patent Case

Research In Motion Ltd., the manufacturers of the BlackBerry, and NTP have reached a $612.5 million settlement to end their long-running patent litigation. The settlement averts a potential court-ordered shutdown of the tremendously popular mobile “push” e-mail service in the United States, and is a full and final settlement of all claims, the companies said.
