Tech Employment Improves Last Month After Sluggish November

Tech industry employment picked up last month.
Some markets like the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston and Salt Lake City are suffering significant shortages of qualified IT professionals.
Some 48,400 more IT jobs were created last year than in 2017.
About 7,600 jobs were added in the IT services, custom software development and computer system design category last month.
The number of employer job postings in August for core technology positions dropped by 39,000 in August.
So far, 45,700 more new IT jobs have been created this year than in 2017.
Even the telecommunications category entered positive territory last month with a modest gain of 600 jobs.
For the year, IT sector employment has increased by an estimated 48,900.
Most of the C-level executives Janco Associates has interviewed are expecting a booming economy.
