The DDoS Mitigation Service is said to lets users avoid “unplanned and potentially exorbitant” costs in the event of a DDoS attack on their network. It comes with other Internet-accessing XO services, like Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) MPLS IP-VPN, SIP, and IP Flex.

Mitel is now offering MiCloud Edge, a solution that works to help business maximize bandwidth resources in order to improve voice and video application service quality. It’s said to help companies that need to configure multiple branches with minimal IT staff. The company said the inclusion of SD-WAN technology lets organizations “detect the highest quality connectivity path.”

NextOS combines communication, collaboration and engagement into the same platform. CEO Tomas Gorny says NextOS fixes what he calls the “business communications crisis,” where organizations either use outdated communication systems or several modern solutions that lack cohesion. It’s the answer to Nextiva’s own soul-searching and a work in progress over the past two years, he said. He said his company wants to take on a more holistic identity than just a VoIP provider.

Dell’s Data Protection Secure Lifecycle product, the most recent addition to its Dell Data Security Solutions portfolio, targets protecting data on the move as part of an integrated security offering.
The new functionality combines with data encryption, file access monitoring, data-leakage prevention (DLP) and digital rights management (DRM) to provide organizations with end-to-end data life-cycle coverage, or protection for data that’s at rest and in motion.

In what SonicWALL, now an independent company, called a major release of its Secure Mobile Access (SMA) product, the vendor announced the SonicWall 1000 Series OS 12.0.
The updated product aims to offer global high availability, blended single sign-on (SSO) technology; advanced security; and an intuitive user experience.

The Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Suite for SMB communications was built on the OXO Connect R2 server and is said to give SMBs the flexibility they need for “the modern workplace.

The company also debuted Rainbow, which it calls an innovative cloud-based relationship management platform that connects business users, business contacts and systems. Rainbow offers a set of cloud-based services, implemented as an overlay solution with rich features and essential collaborative capabilities.

VeloCloud unveiled its new SD-WAN service that includes a Voice Quality Monitoring (VQM) capability.
VeloCloud VQM helps service providers and enterprises monitor, diagnose and troubleshoot network issues impacting voice communications. The new VoIP performance management software supports an array of codec technologies, and provides listening and conversational call quality metrics in both R-Factor and MOS (mean opinion score) formats, as well as detailed diagnostic information, giving network managers both high-level metrics and the ability to drill down to identify specific problems, the company said.

BroadSoft, the unified communications as a service (UCaaS) provider, is out with a new set of applications designed to provide solutions for cloud PBX, unified communications, collaboration and the contact center.
BroadSoft Business is a multi-tenant solution that the company says will provide scalability and affordability to both service providers and their customers. BroadSoft said the suite scales to all businesses sizes, from enterprise to SMB.

IBM announced hybrid cloud all-flash storage solutions designed to improve storage deployments.
IBM said it is integrating cloud, flash and software-defined storage to introduce lower costs, increased performance and flexibility, as well as adding security and data management. It’s all part of the Spectrum Storage Suite.

Cisco introduced new capabilities for its AMP (Advanced Malware Protection) for Endpoints and Cisco ONE Advanced Security, a route to purchase the new product.
The vendor called the announcement, made at Cisco Partner Summit 2016, a new approach to endpoint security. There are currently 5.7 million active AMP for Endpoint connectors, according to Cisco.
The company also announced a new addition to its Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS).The UCS S3260, the first product in the family, is designed to address the massive increases in the amount of data that’s stored and being actively retrieved.
Barracuda Web Security Gateway version 11.0 offers customers advanced security protection and improved SSL scanning performance, as well as the ability to enforce policy configuration on Chromebooks, the company said.
Barracuda Web Security Gateway is purpose-built to enable organizations to benefit from online applications and tools, while preventing exposure to web-borne malware and viruses, and limiting lost user productivity and misused bandwidth.
