The second full day of the Channel Partners Conference & Expo is in full swing, and what a show it’s been so far.
Most of our education sessions have been very busy, with channel partners eager to gobble up as much brain candy as they can. Our Selling Techniques Luncheon covered various topics and included a lot of group participation resulting in partners helping partners. Other highlights were a keynote from Oracle’s Bob Evans; the presentation of awards to the Top 15 Channel Managers; a well-attended gathering of Women In the Channel; and much more. If you missed the opening of the Expo Hall Wednesday night, you missed hundreds of people checking out dozens of booths. All in all, the opportunities for partners to learn, network and even make deals have been abundant.
The show has also been an opportunity for Channel Partners to let attendees know about all of the exciting things we have going on. We’ve been talking with partners about the convergence of the telecom and IT channels something we’re hanging our hat on as evidenced by our new “Infinity” logo. In fact, I’m sitting and listening right now to the Day 2 Keynote Panel featuring four invited partners two from the telecom space and two from the IT space discuss how this convergence is impacting their businesses in a variety of ways.
We’ve also had a chance to engage with attendees about some of the terrific growth in our online products. Thousands of new registrants have signed up to access and download our premium content exclusive Reports, Digital Issues, Slide Shows and more. We take pride in the depth of content, covering just about every topic relevant to the channel, that we have to offer our readers.
And last but not least, we’ve been talking about our new video documentary project “A Day In the Cloud.” We’ve been airing a promotion for it ahead of many of the cloud education sessions, with the full video, featuring AT&T, on Channel 52 on the television in your hotel room at the Peabody, and online here. We’re going behind the scenes at data centers around the country, taking a close look at products and services from some of the biggest names in the industry to see what differentiates one cloud from another. It’s a project I’m personally very excited about. Our next Day In the Cloud documentary features SunGard Availability Services, and will debut in October.
So as the channels converge, the cloud becomes more relevant to agents and VARs, and the business continues to evolve in exciting ways, Channel Partners will continue to be alongside you every step of the way.
