Channel Partners Redesigns Awards Slate, Adds Supplier Honors

Lorna GareyWhen we revamped Cloud Partners to become Channel Partners Evolution, that raised some big questions. Among them: What about the Cloudys?

We decided to stop and take some time to rethink our awards strategy from the ground up. First, we set three goals: Simplify, because there’s enough complexity in life already. Second, recognize the business successes that partners deliver to customers continuously, all year long, not just at shows. And finally, reward channel-focused vendors for their own style of innovation.

The result of that thinking: Channel Partners’ Business Success Stories (formerly the Case Study Challenge) and 360° Business Value Awards are now linked, and we’re adding an all new Channel Partners Choice award to recognize vendors for innovation in their channel programs.

Our Circle of Excellence awards remain mostly unchanged. Let’s look at each.

For Partners

Business Success Stories: This ongoing program recognizes the role of peer education, because good things happen when we share insights on how technology helped customers get ahead. We invite our community to share success stories: partners, end customers, vendors — anyone can work on the submission. The only condition is that a channel partner must be named as involved in the effort. We’ll publish Success Stories on our site, and the best submissions in certain technology categories will be featured in quarterly digital issues.

Most important, all submissions will automatically be considered for a Channel Partners 360° Business Value Award.

How to enter: Download our revamped form, fill it out and send it to Buffy Naylor, buffy.naylor@informa.com. That’s it.

360° Business Value Awards: As always, the CP360° awards are about creating value for customers. The only change is that we’ll award winners at both our spring Channel Partners Conference & Expo and our fall Channel Partners Evolution show. Selections are solely based on Business Success Story program submissions; the partner named in the submission is eligible for the award. As in the past, a judging team will rate each success story based on how well partners created business value for their customers through telecom and technology. There will no longer be calls for entry.

How to enter: Share a success story between August and January for recognition at Channel Partners Conference & Expo and between February and July for recognition at Channel Partners Evolution.

For Suppliers

Channel Partners Choice Awards: Do you have a supplier – big or small, longstanding or new – that’s constantly looking to improve? This all-new award recognizes vendors for innovations in their channel-partner programs. Anyone in our community may nominate a vendor partner; editors will select the most ingenious enhancements and highlight them at our spring Channel Partners Conference & Expo and our fall Channel Partners Evolution shows. Submission deadlines mirror those for the CP360° awards.

Circle of Excellence Awards: Since 2013, Channel Partners’ Circle of Excellence program has recognized 15 channel leaders who are helping partners create business value for customers. The Circle of Excellence honors executives for their vision, innovation and advocacy of the indirect channel. We will continue to do so, with one change. Beginning in 2017, three-time winners will be named emeritus members of the Circle of Excellence and will be invited to awards ceremonies and featured on the site for as long as they stay with their companies.
