Agility, Education Aid in Cloud Success

Stacy NethercoatBy Stacy Nethercoat

As one of the fastest growing areas in the IT industry, the cloud has become the first technology channel partners look to when investigating solutions options. The evolution of cloud computing, in fact, continues to remain a key focus area for solution providers, vendors and distributors, and many are still asking how to best leverage business growth opportunities. Finding the right education tools for readiness and discovering the best pathway for enablement are important elements for success.

According to IDC, it is clear that cloud-oriented partners continue to outperform their peers. Learning how to create cloud-based business solutions and a sustainable cloud practice will make all the difference in your success. As the evolution of the cloud progresses, so will the business model. Companies need to be agile. Through education and enablement, along with the right partners, your business will continue to evolve and profitably grow in cloud computing.

Education and enablement practices are key to successfully evaluating and fully capitalizing on business opportunities in cloud computing. We need a combined effort — vendors and sales representatives on both the IT distributor side and the VAR side — to embrace the concept of truly educating the end user community about cloud.

On trend with the industry, at Tech Data we have seen significant growth in our cloud business and are constantly seeking to add more value and opportunities for our channel partners. We are invested in the channel’s success. Furthermore, as cloud computing continues to be a strategic focus for Tech Data, we are investing in the future by dedicating leadership and resources to our cloud business. Solidifying our commitment to growth in the cloud, we have added new dedicated TDCloud sales, reseller enablement, field marketing and operations resources, as well as a new organizational structure.

As cloud adoption accelerates, we are prepared to provide the most comprehensive cloud solutions in the IT channel through Tech Data’s Solutions Store, powered by StreamOne, our award-winning global IT platform — an automated buying, selling, provisioning and billing system for cloud and subscription-based services technology that scales the business and operational scope. I am excited about the future of cloud computing, and I look forward to leading Tech Data’s cloud business and continuing to enable the success of our channel partners.
