Switchvox, Cbeyond Products Interoperable

Switchvox said its products are interoperable with Cbeyonds SIP Trunking service, BeyondVoice with SIPconnect. The interoperability allows Switchvoxs and Cbeyonds channel partners to provide customers with an IP PBX system, Internet access, local and long-distance voice service and toll-free numbers in one packaged offering, the companies said. Switchvox SMB is available starting at $2,495 and Switchvox SOHO is available for $995.

Nuvio Bolsters System With Fax Capabilities

Nuvio Corp. added inbound fax capabilities to its IP business phone system. Personal Fax allows customers to receive inbound faxes on any telephone number they use with Nuvio and works with their integrated messaging portal. The service recognizes fax tones on a call and intercepts the fax; Nuvios unified messaging portal then manages it. Users can have the fax e-mailed, or they can read it on the Web, or both.


Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Telecommunication Systems Division (TAIS TSD) introduced MicroMAS, a Strata Media Application Server platform for small and medium enterprises. MicroMAS is compatible with all Strata CIX systems, but was designed particularly to complement Toshibas Strata CIX100 and CIX40 VoIP systems. Connected to the Strata CIX system via IP, MicroMAS integrates all applications including auto attendant, IVR and fax onto one platform.

Spanish-Language Training Tool Available for Cisco IP Phones
4What Interactive has released a Spanish language version of VoIPTrainer, an on-demand interactive training and support tool for Cisco Systems Inc.s 7940/60 series IP phones. VoIPTrainer requires an annual subscription; the lowest price is $190 per month. VoIPTrainer includes unlimited training for an entire organization, regardless of size or number of users, anytime or anywhere. Training modules for other Cisco IP phone lines are planned for release.

Sigma Systems Launches Commercial Voice Service Package
Sigma Systems, a company that designs OSS service management solutions, has launched its Commercial Voice Service Package. The package provisions and maintains hosted commercial voice services on TDM and IP networks. It creates new service bundles such as hosted voice, voice mail and Centrex and IP Centrex call features.

Mediatrix Unveils 4100 Series
Mediatrix Telecom, a maker of VoIP access devices and gateways, released the Mediatrix 4100 Series. The family of access devices can connect up to 24 analog phones and/or faxes to a broadband modem or LAN; this means medium branch offices and multitenant buildings can deploy VoIP in a cost-effective manner, the company says. The devices can auto-provision by fetching their encrypted configuration from a TFTP or HTTP server, making installation secure and transparent to end users.

Auris Technology Launches Virtual CLEC

Auris Technology released Virtual CLEC, a new Web-based telecom solution that delivers a low-cost infrastructure for CLECs and ISPs migrating their systems from traditional legacy networks to IP, based on SIP protocol. According to the company, Auris solution eliminates the hassles of expensive switching platforms and carrier agreements/deposits and gives customers the ability to manage their businesses via a suite of APIs that integrate into existing Web sites. Customers also have the option to bundle and resell VoIP services at a discount.

XO Teams With Jamcracker to Deliver On-Demand Software
XO Communications announced a strategic partnership with Jamcracker to deliver on-demand collaboration, mobility and security software applications for small and medium businesses through its direct and indirect sales channels. Services will be available commercially in third quarter. XO will offer on-demand software services individually or as a bundle with other XO services. Initial software applications available from XO will include Arsenal Digital Solutions online desktop backup services, BlackBerry hosted services, McAfee Total Protection for Small Business, Microsoft Exchange e-mail and Microsoft SharePoint collaboration server.

Berkeley Varitronics Upgrades Yellowjacket

Berkeley Varitronics Systems Inc. (BVS) introduced a new version of its Yellowjacket handheld 802.11b/a/g Wi-Fi Analyzer & Spectrum Analyzer. This latest test receiver system demodulates, sweeps and analyzes nearly all 802.11 Wi-Fi network packets. It also serves as a spectrum analyzer that measures RF energy within a 2.4GHz and 5GHz network WISP or hotspot. The tool is slated for availability some time in the third quarter.
