Fiber-optic service provider US Signal (Booth 522) announced that its long-haul fiber backbone routes have been upgraded to 10gbps capacity. In addition, the company now supports long-haul Ethernet across its footprint.
US Signals network includes more than 3,500 miles of fiber across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin and is one of the largest networks in the Midwest. It offers SONET, DWDM and metro Ethernet transport services.
Its new long-haul Ethernet transport uses Cisco Systems Inc.s Ethernet over DWDM technology. It provides a variety of bandwidth hand-offs, strong SLAs and high network resiliency, the company said.
We have seen continued demand by small and large businesses in our region for Ethernet solutions, said US Signal President Barry Raterink. Ethernet services help drive down network costs and simplify wide area networks.
Ethernet long-haul transport is available at US Signals carrier hotel and collocation facility locations.
