Star-Spangled Standouts: Channel Partners Conference & Expo

There was no need for any rockets red glare” at the Fall 2010 Channel Partners Conference & Expo, Sept. 20-22, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C.   Exhibitors shone brightly enough on their own, with booths that were 3D, neon and media-filled; promotions that spun and bubbled; frosted and folding giveaways; and parties that featured poses and pasta. Attendees voted online to determine the Best in Show and PHONE+ is pleased to salute the winners and runners-up in each of seven categories.

Vu Telepresence
s 20×20 was a vision in white, red and gray, complete with a contemporary sofa lounge and multiple flat screens for demonstrating its video communications services.

Runner-up AireSprings 3D display was a standout in the hall, with every detail from signage to handouts to presos to staff T-shirts specially designed. Just as impressive: the entire booth required only the energy pull of one CFL.

took its display to another dimension, offering visitors 3D glasses to view 3D signage and presentations.  Plus, it gave away a 3D LCD HDTV in a prize drawing.

Runner-up PowerNet Global Communications invited channel partners to SIP Back & Relax” at its booth, which had coffee for sipping and chairs for relaxing. Partners could take away mugs and ground coffee or enter to win a coffee maker in a prize drawing.



Best Channel Partner Event

World Telecom Group
invited guests to Strike a Pose” on the 18th floor of the Gaylord National Hotel.  Attendees could unwind with hors doeuvres and the clubs unique hand-crafted cocktails while enjoying views from the wraparound terrace. Those wanting a souvenir of the evening could have their pictures taken in a Strike a Pose” photo booth.

Runner-up Broadview Networks Inc. held an invitation-only Agent Appreciation dinner at BOND 45, New York-style Italian restaurant. More than 50 guests attended and indulged in steak, seafood and an array of Italian desserts.



Best Channel Incentive

Time Warner Cable Business Class
and TeleDomani Inc.s Best of Both Worlds” contest featured prizes for selling the most phone service, Internet service or cable TV in a month. The highest total sales overall earned a 3D TV or touch screen computer.

Runner-up Qwest Communications International Inc. asked agents if they could be the one in $1 million.  The Million-Dollar bonus program promised $1 million to any agent that grows their business with Qwest by $2 million in the next five years.


Best Trade Show Promotion

LEC Broadview Networks Inc. gave Vanna White a run for her money with its version of Wheel of Fortune” featuring prizes that ranged from flash drives and luggage to iTune gift cards and Netbook computers.

Gear maker ADTRAN catered to thirsty expo hall attendees with its yard glasses filled with beer. The company also dressed things up with its colorful T-shirts and flashing buttons.




Best Trade Show Giveaway

Time Warner Cable Business Class
sweetened up the show floor with gourmet cupcakes; flavors included red velvet, carrot cake, strawberry and dark chocolate.

Attendees took note of runner-up Demarc Extension Nationwide which gave out leather-bound binders containing a writing tablet and pen.





Best First-Time Exhibitor

Vu Telepresence
s debut in the hall was nothing if not memorable with its towering white columns, swanky sofas and numerous flat-screens.

Runner-up Cisco Systems Inc. made its debut at Channel Partners with a 10×10 booth. The networking giant also conducted a vendor presentation on its Hosted Small Business (HSB) Communications solution.
