Profitec Billing Services has released its newest products to meet the billing and OSS requirements of VoIP service providers.

Profitecs OmniVON combines service bureau billing, CRM, customer care, trouble management, provisioning, online order entry and electronic bill presentment into a single integrated solution paid for on an as you drink basis. As a service bureau offering tailored to startup VoIP communications companies, OmniVON has modest startup expenses and very low minimums, according to Profitec.

Profitecs OmniVON combines VON billing and customer care capabilities with agent-based online order entry and sales management tools, and consumer-oriented electronic bill presentment and payment systems into a single integrated solution. Profitec provides server and Web-based software systems as well as service bureau billing and print and mail facilities. OmniBill ASP goes one step further and eliminates the need for client-provided IT infrastructure by providing a hosted OmniBill option while providing OmniAgent and OmniView software that can operate on a clients Web server. Hosted OmniBill enables client-powered customer service, provisioning and all other administrative components, and for those clients who require it, Profitec also can provide hosting services for the Webbased components.

Martin Group Lets Western Datapro Offer Software in ASP Model

OSS/BSS software provider Martin Group Inc. has teamed with Western Datapro, which will offer Martin Groups OMNIA and OASIS software in an ASP environment to communications providers that cannot afford an inhouse product.

Oregon-based Western Datapro provides billing software to telecommunications companies.

OMNIA and OASIS allow carriers to provide a billing, ordering, provisioning, marketing, sales automation and customer care system while managing revenue. Western Datapros value-added services include billing and data processing services; on-site client needs assessment and system planning; system development and testing; software installation and in-depth training; system enhancements; and ongoing technical support.

LSSi Provides Same-Day Processing for DA Listings

LSSi Corp., a developer of directory databases, has introduced same-day processing. The company says it now can provide customers with nationwide U.S. telephone listings as soon as eight hours after receiving the listings from carriers and other data sources.

The freshness of telephone listings is a major concern for providers of directory assistance services; the older a telephone database is, the more likely it is to contain out-of-date and incorrect listings. LSSi says same-day processing means users can access changes on the same day carriers and other data sources provide updates to LSSi. The company typically receives more than 2 million updates each day.

BeQuick Integrates Web-Based Order-Entry System Into OSS Platform

BeQuick Software Inc. has added a new Web-based ordering system to its OSS platform, QuickTel, so a CLECs customers can order services directly from the CLECs Web site.

Whether the customer is ordering a new service or converting an existing line, the system displays only plans that are available in that service area.The system also can set pricing according to the customers location. The system further has an upsell capability that can be used to market additional services to the customer, such as broadband and inside wiring maintenance plans.

After selecting desired plans and additional services, the customer receives an invoice that includes setup charges and taxes. Once submitted, the order then can be provisioned through BeQuicks integrated provisioning platform, which is connected to major ILECs.

The ordering system can be privately branded and configured according to the CLECs business rules. The system also can be used by remote agents and customer representative/records.

Coastal Technologies Upgrades OSS Connect, Adds Order Flow

Coastal Technologies Group Inc. has made a major upgrade to its automated service-order delivery tool, OSS Connect, and added Order Flow, a new business workflow tool.

One of the significant enhancements is the addition of pre-order validation to ensure that orders sent from one carrier to another are completed accurately. OSS Connect 3.1 also is integrated with Order Flow, a new tool that tracks orders from when the sale is consummated to the installation.

Order Flow is customizable by Coastal techs or the customer and is offered on an ASP basis. Subscriptions are per user, but also will be provided as a turnkey software solution on a licensed basis on request.
