Integrated communications provider PowerNet Global Communications has launched PowerNet Mobile, its no-contract, nationwide wireless phone service. The company will market PowerNet Mobile through its independent agents and affinity groups. PowerNet Mobile offers various calling plans and phone options with no customer contracts; a number of the plans also provide a $100 credit on the purchase of available phones. Most calling plans will include unlimited nights and weekends, free voice mail, caller ID and call waiting. Subscribers can add text messaging packages for a monthly fee.

Digital Warehouse USA Inc., a supplier of used Cisco Systems Inc. equipment and other networking hardware, has launched its international reseller partner program. The company says it offers qualified leads, commissions up to 50 percent and strong support. Digital Warehouse’s used equipment is certified as new.

TMC Communications has expanded its Santa Barbara, Calif., headquarters, a move the company says will help it serve agents and customers more quickly and efficiently. The company also is preparing to launch IP products in the first quarter of 2005. It already has installed its second softswitch and pre-launched its local IP-PRI product to select TMC agents.

RPM Software, which specializes in channel-management technology for the telecom industry, has added several new clients to its roster. Master agencies Telecom Brokerage Inc. (TBI), WTI Communications Inc. and Bridgepointe Technologies, as well as data and telephone systems integrator Schweiss Networks Inc., all are adopting RPM Software’s commission and process management application.

GlobalTouch Telecom, a carrier with an agent channel, is offering its residential SIPTalk VoIP service for a minimum of $9.95 per month. The new plan gives users 200 minutes of calling anywhere in the United States and Canada, and calls between SIPTalk customers are free. Other home plans run $14.95 for 500 minutes and $19.95 for unlimited minutes. GlobalTouch’s business plans start at $34.95 for 2,000 minutes. The carrier soon plans to offer country-specific SIPTalk packages as well.

PAETEC Communications Inc., a CLEC with 27 U.S. markets, has developed new products for trading floors and brokerage houses that are available through authorized agents. Using its IP network, PAETEC has created a portfolio that includes automatic ring down, manual ring down, hoot-andholler and shared T1 access.

Palisade Systems Inc., which makes network management and security products, has launched a new business partner program called PalNet. Palisade specializes in network appliances, including the PacketHound, which channel partners can sell to provide network security beyond existing firewalls and filters. The product monitors network traffic, identifies inappropriate or potentially damaging connections, and logs or blocks the protocols, applications, worms and vulnerabilities specified by the user in the rules set. It also gets rid of bandwidth abuse from P2P file sharing and other activities. PacketHound also helps organizations reduce legal liability by blocking the download of copyrighted materials and blocking access to inappropriate Web sites.
