ATI, a carrier that works with master agents, has been selected by Inc. Magazine as company No. 41 on its Inc. 500 list. ATI came in No. 5 for the telecom sector and No. 2 in Orange County, Calif. Inc. Magazine’s annual list ranks America’s 500 fastest growing privately held companies. ATI executives say the company earned the No. 41 ranking in part by increasing its fiscal year sales from 1999 to 2003 by 2,376 percent.

Verizon Communications Inc. has signed an agreement with equipment provider Alcatel Inc. to distribute managed communications services solutions to SMBs. Agents will deliver communications servers, applications, network services and management. The deal means Verizon now offers all of Alcatel’s voice products to the U.S. market. Part of the arrangement calls for Alcatel and Verizon to sell a combination of network-based and on-premises business communications solutions and services. Verizon will offer the Alcatel OmniPCX Office voice, data and Web communications server with a choice of Verizon network services, plus ongoing system maintenance and remote service management, acting as a channel for Alcatel into the SMB market in the United States.

Reseller Total Call International Inc. is bolstering its business-to-business and marketing staff, positioning itself to give agents more ways to diversify product offerings and open more revenue streams. Gary Greenburg and Sevan Derderian are the new development managers, while Wayne Cheung is the new marketing manager.

Value-added distributor Voda One Corp., a division of Westcon Group North America Inc., has created a dedicated support team to help resellers work in the convergence space of the SMB market. Company executives say they want to give Voda One’s business partners broad solutions that fit customers’ business environments. The support team employs preand post-sales support and technical specialists, an SMB team and business development personnel. Voda One’s solution portfolio for the SMB market includes Avaya IP Office, MERLIN MAGIX Integrated System, PARTNER Advanced Communication System, as well as network enhancement and mobility products from vendors such as Multi-Tech Systems, SpectraLink Corp. and Symbol Technologies.

As part of its recent implementation of Telution Inc.’s COMX operations support system, LDMI announced it will launch an Agent Portal, providing upgraded service to its sales channel. LDMI serves more than 80,000 business and residential customers in the Great Lakes region. Its services include local and long-distance service, and data services, such as high-speed connectivity, security, Web hosting and network services., which helps businesses find and comparison-shop for telecom services, announced a new program for telecom providers that provides qualified leads for services including VoIP, VPN, DSL, T1 and more, on a costper- lead basis. says carriers can access a steady stream of customers with measurable ROI. By limiting the program to a short list of providers, the program further increases the value of its leads, executives say.
