New Agent Programs Launched

Pacific Gateway Exchange (PGE), Burlingame, Calif., unveiled its first agent program at
the PHONE+ AgENt Conference & Expo in Philadelphia in late September. PGE was not
alone among the providers that used this forum to launch new programs. Most notable among
them were NuLink.com, Pittsburgh, and the pairing of Frontier Corp., Rochester, N.Y., and
Global Crossing Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda.
PGE’s program will focus on small-to-medium-sized business and ethnic residential
accounts, as well as international and domestic calling. The company touts web-based
reporting to check order status, detailed commission reports posted on the web and
electronic order upload for all 1+ orders that have been third-party verified. The company
also is beta testing customer payment and invoice review on the Internet.
After completion of their merger on Sept. 28, Global Crossing and Frontier announced a
program that enables its agent partners to bundle services and offer customers solutions
to integrated Internet, data, long distance, local, digital and enhanced communications
Internet service provider (ISP) NuLink.com’s new program includes products, such as
unlimited dial-up Internet access and TalkingMail, a system that provides users the
ability to check e-mail messages and reply to messages from any touch-tone telephone. The
program features online signup and credit card billing.
