Cisco Viptela has become more and more widely supported by service providers to appeal to enterprises that want to stay on an all-Cisco solution, Washburn said.
“Overall there is an increase in options and in sophistication from service providers,” he said. “Smaller, newer SD-WAN equipment entrants are not getting as much traction through the large service provider channel, but they might have better luck setting their sights lower, targeting enterprises through smaller channels, consultancies and market influencers.”
Last month, Citrix announced that it will make its SD-WAN, and an application delivery and load balancing solution available on the Google Cloud Platform. The move is designed to allow companies to extend their networks to the cloud and deliver applications in a way that gives users access to the tools they need and prefer to use and perform anywhere and anytime from any device.
