Cisco AVVID Program Adds Tandberg,
PolyCom Video Products
TANDBERG, a provider of video
conferencing has joined Cisco Systems Inc. AVVID (Architecture for Voice and
Video Integrated Data) Partner Program as an IP Videoconferencing Solutions
In addition, Polycom Inc. announced
that its MGC Video MCU and Gateway product meets Cisco AVVID Partner Program
requirements for interoperability. Its ViewStation and ViaVideo endpoints
already have been verified independently to interoperate.
The Cisco AVVID Partner Program sets
criteria for interoperability testing by independent third parties and is a
comarketing program that enables product and services firms to deploy e-business
solutions. An IP video conferencing partner’s products must be interoperable
with the Cisco Multimedia Conference Manager (MCM), the Cisco Multipoint Control
Unit (MCU) and a Cisco H.323 – H.320 Gateway.
TANDBERG systems range from video
conferencing solutions designed for boardrooms and large meeting rooms to
compact set-top units for medium to small meeting rooms and professional offices
with wireless LAN capability.
The Polycom Video MCU and Gateway
product is built on the MGC platform, a solution that provides video, voice,
data and web conferencing over multiple networks — IP, ISDN and ATM — using
