Citynet Wholesale (Booth 727), a facilities-based broadband service provider specializing in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, has announced plans to add several new Virginia markets to their service area footprint by years end.
By building into central offices in key markets across Virginia, Citynet will add more than 300 route miles of fiber to its footprint in that state. The new Virginia markets include: Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg and Winchester.
Citynet also plans to add Columbus and Muncie, Ind., and Johnstown, Pa., to its list of central office colocations by the end of 2007.
The completion of these new projects means that Citynets list of markets served will have grown by almost 40 percent adding 17 new markets in two years. Recently, by colocating in the Martinsburg, W. Va., central office, Citynet became one of only a handful of carriers to serve every LATA in West Virginia.
Lighting this new Virginia route is in direct response to our customers needs, said Tom Payne, Citynet vice president of sales and marketing. We have always focused on meeting our customers requirements by delivering industry-leading solutions to Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, while remaining focused on network reliability. Over the past two years, this success-based approach has allowed us unprecedented expansion for a company our size.
Citynet offers private lines (DS3 to OCN), optical waves (2.5gbps and 10gbps), Ethernet, colocation and local access to underserved markets across the Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic states, including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
