Williams To Purchase Conduits on GST California
Network
Vancouver, Wash.-based GST Telecommunications Inc. announced it has signed its third
major agreement with Williams Communications Group Inc., Tulsa, Okla., in which Williams
will purchase multiple conduits on GST’s California long-haul network between Sacramento,
Oakland, San Jose and Los Angeles.
Under terms of the agreement, Williams will acquire conduits on about 800 route miles
that comprise several segments along GST’s West Coast backbone for $62.5 million.
The GST fiber backbone is part of GST’s Virtual Integrated Transport and Access (VITA)
network. The agreement with Williams creates redundant paths for the Williams multiservice
broadband network between Portland, Ore., and Los Angeles, along the western corridor.
