In case you havent heard, PHONE+ is looking for a few good industry channel execs for its all-new 2007-2008 Advisory Board. Selected members will serve as a sounding board for editorial content in PHONE+ as well as seminar content for the Channel Partners Conference & Expo. You might recall that the conference has had an advisory board for some time, but now its time to expand the scope of the board to include the publication.
The publication is 20 years old and the show is 10. Thats a good track record, but its no guarantee of continued success. Rather than hope for the best, we will rely on the members of the advisory board for their guidance and counsel to ensure that our publications and programs remain relevant and timely.
Many of you out there already reach out on a regular basis to help the editorial team. And, we are very grateful for those news tips, advice and criticisms. While this input may chafe at first, its the best way that we can improve the educational services we provide to you. So, formalizing this process should, in theory, take this feedback loop to the next level, resulting in continuous improvements and greater reader value.
Our intention is to seek out diverse voices and we initially have identified a board with nine yearlong seats and standing membership offered to select industry associations.
Positions are open for master agents, independent agents, carriers, dealers, VARs and resellers all constituencies of the magazine and its biannual event. In a word, we want you.
As you might guess, there are numerous perks of membership, not the least of which is ongoing recognition in the magazine (on this page no less). For more details, see the online nomination form at www.phoneplusmag.com/advisoryboard. You also will have opportunities to provide input to the magazine and post your views on the Peer-To-Peer Blog on the PHONE+ Web site. And, you will have influence over the conference agenda and speaker selection. Most importantly, you will have a role in helping us to shape new products and services for the channel.
Since I will be working very closely with the advisory board, I am making a personal appeal to encourage you to nominate yourself for membership on the board. We have taken great pains to make this an egalitarian and legitimate working body. I assure you, every thoughtful application will be considered seriously. So, if youve got a little extra time and a lot of great ideas, let us know. You might become part of our inaugural board.
