Best in Show: Fall Channel Partners Winners

The city that never sleeps was a perfect host for the nonstop action at the Fall 2007 Channel Partners Conference & Expo, held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J., Sept. 26-28. There were more than 2,000 participants and more than 120 exhibitors showcased their products, services and programs. But there were a few standouts. These exhibitors were so memorable that attendees couldnt just fuhgettaboutit. In fact, they voted and chose the companies on the following pages as the Best in Show.

PHONE+ will present these Best-in-Show awards at the Spring 2008 Channel Partners Conference & Expo held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, March 10-12.


Best Channel Incentive

Lightyears
Drive New Business program, which lets agents earn two-year leases on hot cars for booked revenue, is the winner in the Best Channel Incentive category. At $35,000 in new business, agents can choose a Hummer H3, Mercedes C Class or Lexus IS. At $50,000, they choose a Porsche Boxter, Mercedes E Class or Lexus GS. And, at $75,000, they can choose from a Mercedes S Class or a Porsche 911 Carerra.

XO Communications
is the runner-up for Best Channel Incentive with its Club MVP 2007 incentive, which enabled agents selling at least $75,000 in XO services from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2007, to gain a spot at Club MVP an all-expenses-paid getaway to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Best Booth
One Communications is the winner for Best Trade Show Booth. The booth was set up like a locker room, and the company used the space to display the NFL and MLB merchandise it was giving away to those who stopped by to play the quarterback toss game. The booth was comfortable and classy, and the wood finishes on all the surfaces made the booth stand out enough to knock it out of the park, so to speak.

TNCI is the runner-up in the Best Trade Show Booth category for its open and welcoming design. This 20 x 20 island booth had graphics displayed overhead as to not occupy precious meeting space.

Best After-Hours Party

McLeodUSA and Telecom Brokerage Inc. win the award for Best After-Hours Party for sponsoring the event at hotspot nightclub Lotus in the trendy meat-packing district of NYC. Open to all Channel Partners Expo and Capital 2.0 exhibitors and attendees, the event featured complimentary appetizers, drinks and transportation to and from the event.

XO Communications is the runner-up for Best After-Hours Party aboard the Spirit of New Jersey, a 240-foot yacht. The cruise was sponsored by XO and its top master agencies Gryphone Telecom, Intelisys, TBI, WTG, X4 and PlanetOne.

Best Promotion

COLOTRAQ wins the award for Best Promotion by giving away $3,000 worth of cash and prizes. Attendees could stop by the booth to play the COLOTRAQ Referral Game where players throw a large six-sided die over a fence and win whatever prize is represented on the face of the die when it lands. There were no losers everyone won something whether it be a travel mug, pen or T-shirt and approximately one-sixth of the participants won cash.

NetCarrier Inc. is the runner-up for Best Promotion for giving away a Segway personal transporter worth $6,000. Moz Aslam of COLOTRAQ was the winner.

Best First-Time Exhibitor

MySaaS Online wins the award for Best First-Time Exhibitor. Based in Vancouver, Wash., MySaaS Online offers a catalog of software as a service options for sale through the indirect channel. This first-time exhibitor sported an attractive booth set up like a café and offered espresso and cappuccino to its guests.

Best Theme

Best Giveaway

It seems when the Vertek guys and gals selected what logoed merchandise they were going to give away at their booth, they had their priorities straight. Vertek wins the award for Best Trade Show Giveaway with its neoprene wine carrier. The carrier keeps two bottles of wine or bubbly safe from breaking while traveling, and insulates them at their proper temperature for hours.
