AT&T Donates Holiday Calling Cards to Service Personnel

AT&T Corp. is working with the USO this holiday season to distribute 10,000 free prepaid calling cards to servicemen and women recovering in hospitals in the United States and abroad.

The retail value of the 100-minute AT&T prepaid cards totals more than $100,000.

We know these cards are particularly appreciated during the holidays and were working with the USO to get these cards to hospitals that need them most and as soon as possible, says Lou Addeo, president of AT&T Government Solutions. We want to make sure every injured serviceman and woman is able to make a free phone call home during the holidays.

AT&Ts donation of cards will be greatly appreciated by service members recovering at area hospitals, adds Elaine Rogers, president of the USO of Metropolitan Washington. Cards will also be forwarded to units with deployed troops from the national capital region.

The donation is part of Operation USO Care Package. The USO is chartered by Congress as a non-profit charitable corporation, but it is not part of the U.S. government.
