AT&T Tops Overall Customer Satisfaction

AT&T Corp. ( ranks highest
in customer satisfaction among long distance companies in a recent survey. The
Yankee Group (
survey found AT&T ranked No. 1 in five of eight categories for overall
customer satisfaction. Sprint Corp. (
rated highest in three of the eight categories. The survey was done in 2,200
U.S. households.

According to results, AT&T received higher satisfaction scores in the
following categories: professional and courteous personnel; timely resolution of
problems; quick access to customer service; trustworthiness; and deserving of
loyalty. Sprint rated No. 1 in the areas of easy-to-understand bills; value for
the money; and high-quality transmission.

Of the Big Three long distance companies, MCI WorldCom Inc. (
did not win first place in any of the eight categories.
