Salesforce, the CRM provider, announced on Tuesday what it calls the next step for analytics.

Salesforce's Ketan KarkhanisThe company’s clients will now be able to embed Salesforce’s Wave Analytics platform into their partner communities thanks to Wave for Community Cloud.

“Today we are just taking one more giant leap in extending that value proposition so that our customers can now build and share that insight with their partners,” said Ketan Karkhanis, vice president of product management for Analytics Cloud.

Karkhanis told Channel Partners that the new product will help partners sell more effectively. Up until now, they lacked an equal level of insight, he said. In some cases, they had to use spreadsheets to tally data, lacked sophisticated infrastructure and data scientists. Karkhanis said that kept them from determining best practices and setting benchmarks.

“The question our customers were asking was … what if your partners could sell just like your old sales reps? What if you bring together all the key elements of business profit, collaboration, and intelligence and insight all together in your partner community?” he queried.{ad}

Customers can now place a dashboard for the Wave platform, which includes various data and feedback about the state of business, into partner communities. Partners can log onto an online portal to see data on market and sales trends and compare their numbers with competitors.

“With Wave for Community Cloud, it’s not just about servicing Salesforce and CRM data to your partners,” said Allison Witherspoon, senior product marketing manager. “It’s about combining that … to get a really holistic view of the business.”

Salesforce launched Wave a year ago and has rolled out numerous enhancements, including a mobile app.
