Versa Networks Wednesday launched its new secure access service edge (SASE) offering, delivering SD-WAN and private connectivity for remote or working-from-home employees.

These employees can now securely connect to applications in both private and public clouds as part of Versa Secure Access. The secure access service edge offering is based on the Versa Operating System (VOS) which powers SD-WAN networks on-premises and in the cloud for thousands of customers globally.

It’s available to Versa partners as a turnkey offering that can be deployed and offered as a managed service.

Michael Wood is Versa’s CMO. He said Versa’s channel has been asking for a solution like this. And it will definitely create new revenue streams and opportunities for them.

OmniClouds is an example of an MSP who is going to market with Versa Secure Access as part of their OmniRemote solution to deliver distance learning, telemedicine, and employee access to private and public cloud applications,” he said.

Advantages for Partners

The cloud-delivered SaaS model makes Versa Secure Access easier to deploy, manage and scale versus other work-from-home offerings, Wood said. That gives partners further advantages without having to deploy an appliance in the home, he said.

To protect the enterprise, Versa Secure Access offers a range of security functions, such as stateful firewall, denial of service (DOS) protection and next-generation firewall.

“[Partners] can offer a remote access service that works directly on users’ end devices and delivers the benefits of secure SD-WAN,” Wood said. “This includes critical functions lacking in other solutions, such as an assured experience with network and application monitoring, all backed by an NSS-recommended integrated security suite in the cloud. All this enables our partners to improve remote worker security, performance and productivity for their clients and customers.”

Both Versa and its partners can deliver a Versa offering to businesses who have never deployed Versa in the past or may even have a competitor’s SD-WAN deployed, he said.

“Versa Secure Access operates with other SD-WAN implementations, meaning Versa and its partners can deploy this new service for remote workers with existing enterprise networks and no additional appliances,” Wood said. “Versa Secure Access will be a gateway into many more opportunities for both Versa and Versa partners since the barrier to adoption is very low, and it is cost effective and extremely elastic (pay as you grow or shrink).”

“OmniClouds SD-WAN utilizes Versa Secure SD-WAN coupled with our dedicated telecom infrastructure to deliver an exceptional experience for our clients,” said Amr Eid, OmniClouds’ CEO. “OmniClouds is offering Versa Secure Access to help students take advantage of distance learning, physicians to conduct remote televisit calls, and employees to reach virtual office desktops and public/private clouds securely, seamlessly, and with improved application performance.”
