CenturyLink provided faster internet speeds to about 300,000 more small businesses and homes last year. That includes parts of Boulder, Colorado; Spokane, Washington; and Tucson, Arizona.

The company plans to bring gigabit speeds to about 400,000 more small businesses and homes via fiber. Those are in certain areas of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Garrett Gee is CenturyLink’s channel chief. He tells us fiber network infrastructure will provide new opportunities for CenturyLink’s partners.

“These fiber expansions give our channel partners even more opportunity to connect their customers with the high-speed networking and business solutions they need,” he said. “As CenturyLink’s multitenant unit building footprint expands, the opportunity for our partners increases. CenturyLink is focused on helping our channel partner community succeed with our growing network reach, comprehensive portfolio of technology solutions and unparalleled support.”

Enterprises Benefit from Expansion

CenturyLink also recently expanded its network infrastructure in eight cities for the benefit of larger enterprises.

The expansion connects large technology corporations, startups and data centers to CenturyLink’s fiber network. These expansions were in cities in Arizona, California, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.

CenturyLink connected about 18,000 more buildings to its global network last year.

The company will expand its network infrastructure in 20 more cities this year. That will help national and regional enterprises meet growing demand for high-speed connectivity.

“We understand the importance of a secure and reliable network that delivers faster connections and the capacity enterprise companies need to keep up with increasing business demands,” said Ed Morche, CenturyLink‘s president of strategic enterprise and government markets.
