8×8 Helps Alliance of Channel Women Members to Network from Home

A partnership between 8×8 and the Alliance of Channel Women allows the nonprofit’s members to network from home.

ACW Communities BannerACW Communities is a free, virtual meet-up service hosted by 8×8 Video Meetings.

“The goal of [ACW] is to empower and advance women’s careers and leadership roles in the technology channel.” So says Amy Bailey, president of Alliance of Channel Women and vice president of marketing at Telarus. “As an all-volunteer organization, we believe that participation unites us as members, advances our charter and promotes our personal brands. Given the current shift to work remotely, by creating ACW Communities, we are delivering additional value for members, who can now virtually meet, connect and collaborate powered by 8×8 Video Meetings.”

With ACW Communities, members can host, schedule and publicize virtual meet-ups to the ACW Communities calendar. They can also find and enter a scheduled meet-up by clicking on the 8×8 Video Meeting link. It doesn’t require a download or a plug-in.

“[ACW] is more than just a networking group,” said Tina Smith, VP of North America channel marketing at 8×8. “It’s a community for learning and collaboration for not just me, but also my many peers in the channel. It has been a tremendous resource for education, mentoring and knowledge sharing, and it is personally rewarding that 8×8 is helping advance the ACW cause through video collaboration to make membership more fulfilling and enriching at this critical time.”

8×8 Video Meetings sports 8.5 million active monthly users around the world. We recently talked with John DeLozier, the unified communication provider’s channel chief, on the Coffee with Craig and Kevin podcast. He described how the company is offering its product for free to many businesses struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Alliance of Channel Women is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
