CompTIA is collaborating with Pearson VUE to offer an anytime and anywhere online testing option for its certification exams.

CompTIA’s exams are available via Pearson VUE’s OnVUE online proctoring solution.

“Current and prospective IT professionals, students, career changers and others whose plans have been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic can resume their studies and schedule their exams with the full confidence that we’re here when they’re ready to take their test,” said Todd Thibodeaux, CompTIA‘s president and CEO.

Online testing is ideal because it allows certification candidates to test in a highly secure environment. Candidates can schedule their exam to avoid competing priorities and conflicts.

OnVUE remote proctoring ensures all candidates test under the same secure monitoring conditions as a test center.

Candidates can schedule online tests for all CompTIA certifications except for CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+).

It takes just a few steps to start taking a CompTIA certification exam online. Candidates create a Pearson VUE testing account if they don’t already have one.

Here’s our most recent list of new products and services being offered by agents, VARs, MSPs and other channel partners.

“This is a great advancement for our global certification program,” Thibodeaux said. “We’re extremely pleased to work with our longtime partner Pearson VUE to deliver online testing to candidates around the world.”

Online testing is available in English around the world, with the following exceptions: China, Cuba, Japan, Iran, North Korea, South Korea, Sudan, Syria and Slovenia.

CompTIA will resume both online testing and certification exams in a test center once those facilities reopen for business based on guidance from local governments and health authorities.

Last summer, CompTIA announced more than 500,000 individuals have earned its Security+ credential. Security+ validates the skills needed to perform core cybersecurity functions.
