Ribbon, LogMeIn Team Up for Unified Communications and Collaboration

Ribbon Communications and LogMeIn are working together to ensure unified communications and collaboration services to remote workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ribbon’s cloud and edge software portfolio is helping LogMeIn meet increased network traffic demands for unified communications and collaboration.

Patrick Joggerst, Ribbon’s CMO, said his company’s session border controllers played a significant role in LogMeIn increasing network capacity.

“And our channel partners are leveraging Ribbon’s SBCs and other Ribbon solutions to help enterprise customers quickly ramp up and secure their communications capabilities during the explosion in the number of employees working from home,” he said.

Ribbon is working closely with LogMeIn to support its communications needs, Joggerst said.

“Ribbon is committed to continuing to provide our service provider and enterprise customers, along with our channel partners, the best-in-class solutions and services they have come to expect over our long history during this global pandemic,” he said. “Last month we introduced our Work@Home offer to help companies through this challenging time.”

LogMeIn expects to deploy additional Ribbon resources as part of its continued growth and expansion.

“We have experienced unprecedented growth in the usage of our unified communications and collaboration products over the past month due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the seismic shift in the number of employees working from home,” said Ian Pitt, LogMeIn’s CIO. “Ribbon’s solutions have been very stable under the increased load, which has allowed us to continue to provide the quality and reliability our customers expect. We will be looking to deploy additional Ribbon resources as we continue to expand and grow.”

Telinta Assists Remote Workers

Telinta has launched a suite of solutions to serve work-at-home employees. It’s Virtual Office provides communications capabilities for users to conduct business processes wherever and whenever they need.

With Virtual Office, customers can modify their own VoIP solution via a series of brandable self-serve web portals. Users can route or re-route calls anywhere they need.

Virtual Office integrates with Telinta’s brandable mobile softphone app, allowing both voice and video calling, plus messaging.

“It could be as simple as bringing the IP phone from your office to your home and plugging it into a broadband internet connection,” he said. “But we are also seeing large demand for the ability to re-route PBX traffic to our brandable mobile and desktop softphones. Our Virtual Office solution provides access to just about everything a business user could need, without needing IP phones.”

The opportunities are “tremendous” for smaller, more nimble service providers and their resellers, Ferdman said. Legacy providers can’t react as quickly, Ferdman said.
