Impinj Launches Expanded Partner Program, New Tag Chips

Launch

Impinj, the provider of radio frequency identification solutions, on Tuesday launched the Impinj Partner Network, designed to support and integrate the company’s partners.

The Impinj Partner Network replaces the company’s channel partner program, extending benefits to IoT resellers, independent software vendors (ISVs), distributors, service providers and OEMs. Using the Impinj platform, partners build IoT solutions that deliver digital transformation for customers in global markets including retail, supply chain and logistics, aviation, manufacturing and more.

Sandy Murti, Impinj’s vice president of partner development, tells Channel Partners his company’s previous partner program was focused solely on partners who resold the connectivity layer of the platform. The new program provides benefits and networking opportunities for all partners who incorporate select Impinj products or the entire Impinj platform into their solutions, he said.

“Partner input was certainly a contributor to how we shaped the Impinj Partner Network,” he said. “We proactively solicited feedback from existing partners in our community and from the new types of organizations we hope to attract with the expanded program. Our goal is to create a program that recognizes the broad range of partner organizations that want to deliver IoT solutions that solve their customers’ needs. We think the new Impinj Partner Network program is a big step in that direction, and we will continue to monitor and seek feedback from our partners to ensure it serves their needs.”

The program is designed to provide resources that support partners during every phase of their customer engagement, including presales, solution design, implementation, service and support.

Here’s our most recent list of important channel-program changes you should know.

“By expanding partner benefits and adjusting requirements for the basic level of membership in our program, we seek to address the needs of more types of organizations,” Murti said. “In addition, we have streamlined some of the processes involved in enrolling in our program, which makes it easier for all partners to get more quickly enrolled and activated than previously possible — including accessing online training, sales and marketing materials, and more via our partner portal.”

The Impinj platform delivers the building blocks necessary to develop a complete solution, he said.

“Typically solution providers need to work with multiple companies to get the breadth of offering that our platform provides,” Murti said. “Our partners choose Impinj for the high performance, quality and reliability that our platform delivers, and because of the support that they get from the Impinj team. Our partners trust products that are built on the Impinj platform and look to partner with other companies that are building solutions on the Impinj platform. Our new program provides opportunities for these partners to more easily connect with Impinj and with each other.”

The new program coincides with the company’s launch of new tag chips, Impinj M730 and Impinj M750 integrated circuits (ICs), which can be attached to – or embedded in – nearly any physical item, and advanced features allow them to operate globally, delivering each item’s identity, location and authenticity.

“Today we achieved a significant milestone by offering the Impinj M730 and M750 endpoint ICs to our global inlay partners,” said Chris Diorio, Impinj’s CEO. “These ICs represent our most significant endpoint IC innovation since we introduced our first tag chip in 2005 and they portend a future of Impinj innovation and technology advancements that I believe will enable extending the IoT to every thing — from clothing to food to luggage and beyond.”
