Champion One’s First Partner Program Eliminates ‘Complexity and Bloat’

Champion One, the supplier of open optical network services, on Thursday unveiled Channel One, its new global partner program.

Companies that offer their customers one-stop service for strategic consulting, network design, and production selection and fulfillment are ideal candidates to become Channel One members at the silver, gold or platinum levels.

Champion One network solutions are geared toward the service provider, enterprise, data center, health care, education and government sectors.

Wade Wiant, Champion One’s director of channel sales, tells Channel Partners this is his company’s first formal program. It has worked with many channel partners in the past, mostly on an ad-hoc basis, but this program “gives us a chance to foster and develop these relationships into full mutually beneficial partnerships,” he said.

Wiant joined Champion One earlier this year to develop and lead the Channel One initiative.

In addition to a “competitive” pricing structure, benefits can include engineering resources, specialized training, co-branded marketing collateral and more. The program also includes incentives for distributor and referral partners.

“We saw the opportunity to take all of our past experiences with various channel partners and formalize our value proposition, to ensure we deliver a consistent set of benefits and perks to new channel partners as our network grows,” Wiant said. “We welcome all channel partners into our program. Initially, we are actively recruiting resellers, distributors and referral partners.”

The program eliminates a lot of the “complexity and bloat that has plagued” many technology partner programs in recent years, he said.

“Our program is built around direct, honest communication and sharing of opportunities, and incorporated direct feedback from our existing channel partners in the development of the structure and benefits of our program,” Wiant said. “It’s certainly going to become more rewarding for potential partners. We’re offering competitive discount levels on Champion One solutions, dedicated field support resources, generous funds for co-marketing solutions, and much more, depending on which tier … our partners qualify for.”
