Wasabi, the “hot” cloud storage company, has launched its first official partner program designed to better support and enable partner recruitment and growth.
By joining the Wasabi Partner Network, partners can tap into cloud storage with the opportunity to earn incentives, leverage sales and technical enablement, and access go-to-market resources, according to the company. Its pricing model is “simple and predictable,” featuring no tiers and no fees for egress or API requests, it said.
Laurie Mitchell, Wasabi’s senior director of partner marketing, tells Channel Partners that without a formal program “we were able to attract hundreds of managed and cloud service providers because of [the company’s] disruptive price and performance model.”
“We wanted to make it even easier for our partners to buy and resell as a bundled solution,” she said. “The program is geared toward the solution providers, which includes cloud and MSPs as well as SIs — and we also have over 200 technology alliance partners.”
The program puts partners in control of cumulative revenue streams with its price and performance model. Volume incentives are available to partners allowing them to resell or bundle the service, and set their own pricing options for end customers. A self-service portal for sales and technical enablement, deal registration and marketing resources to support go-to-market efforts are also available.
“Wasabi enables immediate and dramatic price and performance efficiencies for our partners and their customers,” Mitchell said. “Another important point that makes Wasabi partner-friendly is that it’s simple — easy to buy and price, and easy to implement. It’s simple to implement with existing applications; in addition to being compatible with the S3 API, we’ve already integrated with hundreds of applications from technology alliance partners. It’s easy to train sales teams to sell with this easy to understand price/performance model.”

Mitchell said Wasabi is “one-fifth the price and up to six times faster than Amazon S3.”
“Wasabi hot cloud storage is a universal, one-size-fits-all cloud object storage service that eliminates confusing storage tiers and satisfies nearly all storage performance requirements,” she said. “Hot cloud storage costs less than traditional cold storage services and is significantly faster than traditional frequent-access storage services. With Wasabi, all data is treated equally and made readily accessible no matter how you classify it, hot, cool or cold.”
Because Wasabi is integrated with technology alliance partners such as Cloudflare, Komprise, Packet, Rubrik, Veeam and more than 200 other technologies, it is a “natural fit” to bundle as part of these solutions and realize immediate price and performance benefits for both the partners and their customers, the company said.

“This is a huge opportunity for partners in the cloud storage space as 75% of all storage is currently sold via channels in the U.S. and primarily sold via the channel in Europe,” said Jennifer Kula, Wasabi’s vice president of alliances and channels. “Wasabi works to help partners change the conversation with their customers, enabling them to be the hero for driving improved return on investment (ROI).”
