Thurnau has been with Powernet for more than 18 years. She previously was director of network and carrier services. In her new role, she will work with various indirect sales agents through Powernet’s channel program, as well as vendors and technology partners to create and execute engagement strategies to generate measurable growth for both Powernet and its partners.
“We want to grow Powernet’s brand awareness in the agent channel; we’re no longer just the voice company that the channel knows us as,” she said. “Agents should look to us as the technology solutions partner who can help them with all their needs, from voice and data to managed services.”
Thurnau has had success in many of Powernet’s sales verticals, including the channel program and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) sales. These verticals require her to work closely with partners while having a strong understanding of their strengths and which solutions will enable them to find success in their industry. Her experience bringing in the right vendors and matching partners with the right products and services offered by Powernet has been the key to her success and what makes her the ideal fit for the new role, the company said.

Thurnau already has plans to bring in additional partners and increase Powernet’s presence in the channel. After beginning a sponsorship of the Alliance of Channel Women, and joining and becoming a chapter committee member of the Dayton, Ohio, chapter earlier this year, Thurnau is working toward increasing Powernet’s participation within the alliance. She hopes to expand the alliance’s reach into Cincinnati soon.
