MicroCorp is adding personnel thanks to demand for its new cloud unit.
Brant Elliot has joined the master agent and distributor as a sales engineer for its cloud-elements division. The company says he will develop pre-sales engineering for “advanced hosted solutions and cloud optimization opportunities.” MicroCorp reports that cloud opportunities have been rising since it launched the unit for SMBs and enterprises.
“Our channel partners are met daily with sophisticated solutions requirements,” said Phil Keenan, MicroCorp’s president. “The talent and practical experience Brant will provide simply accelerates a partner’s ability to close the sale, but more importantly grow the sale.”
Elliot has expertise in systems architecture, virtualization and cloud migration. He most recently served as chief technology officer for Stealz, a marketing/review mobile app for business establishments. His career achievements include managing IT and risk assessments for various public-sector institutions, including the U.S. Army and the Department of Homeland Security.
MicroCorp announced in April that it was acquiring Open Spectrum to subsequently create the division. Open Spectrum and MicroCorp previously were partnering to provide cloud consultancy services.
“We are now taking this proven model to a new level by bringing Open Spectrum into the MicroCorp family and creating a dedicated cloud-services division, helping our partners to transform their businesses with confidence in this rapidly evolving business landscape,” Keenan said at the time.
