Since forming in 2005, One Ring has grown considerably from its Georgia roots. Today, the company provides business connectivity to more than 1,200 locations in Atlanta; Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth; and the wider East Texas region.
Skyriver is a high-speed communications provider based in Los Angeles. Businesses across California will continue to have access to high-speed, fixed wireless, while One Ring also will introduce fiber internet, managed IT services and hosted PBX services.
Kris Maher, One Ring’s vice president of sales, tells Channel Partners the acquisition gives a host of new opportunities to both Skyriver and One Ring partners.
“Skyriver partners see their footprint grow from California to Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston, as well as smaller cities east of DFW,” he said. “Perhaps more significantly, Skyriver’s partners will now be able to offer additional data and voice services including fiber, hosted PBX, unified communications and managed services on top of their well-known fixed wireless solution. Similarly, One Ring’s well-established channel can continue to provide this wide portfolio of solutions but in ‘new’ markets of San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Riverside/San Bernardino.”
The acquisition was prompted by opportunity, Maher said. It was an amicable deal that works out well for both parties, he said.
“We are able to provide our partners and their en -users with more,” he said. “Not just more for the sake of more, but more of the solutions that every business needs — office phone systems, a dedicated internet connection, that sort of thing. And by bundling these solutions together, our partners can offer significant savings to their customers.”
John Jenkins, One Ring’s CEO, said as his company progresses into California, “we will build on the structure that Skyriver has implemented by scaling our resources, accelerating innovation and offering additional services.”

Many partners already partner with both companies, so “we’re not only gaining additional partners, but some partners’ books are being strengthened with the growth,” Maher said.
“We’ll be on-boarding all of (the) partners over the next couple of months with training and supporting, (and) marketing collateral,” he said.
