Strubel’s experience in leading sales and partner organizations in the tech industry positions him for this new role, the company said. Most recently, he served as vice president of the Americas Partner Organization at NetApp, where he was responsible for indirect channel revenue and led teams, working with its partners, throughout the Americas. His organization included the Americas virtual sales organization, which was responsible for NetApp’s inside sales and demand generation.
Strubel also held prior sales and channel leadership roles at HP, where he was part of a founding management team selected to launch HP Software.
Strubel tells Channel Partners that Commvault is investing heavily in deepening and expanding its global partner network and, “in my 34 years in the industry, I have always believed fundamentally that any technology OEM’s path to growth is through partners.”
“Commvault’s strategic business initiative is to scale the global partner program, drive growth through a focused route-to-market approach, and bring to market new and unique joint solution offerings that increase value to partners and customers,” he said. “I look forward to driving new opportunities for growth and revenue with our current and potential partners, through ease of experience and winning solutions.”
Commvault has made “tremendous progress” in engaging with partners and growing its base of global alliances, Strubel said. For example, the company has expanded its strategic partnerships with Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, Infinidat and others, he said.
“It’s my job to help build on these efforts by creating new, innovative programs that help channel partners differentiate Commvault’s solutions in the market and deliver value to their customers,” he said. “Commvault is moving fast and effecting change in how companies manage and protect data on-premises, in hybrid environments and in the cloud. My role is to help Commvault build on its success in developing a partner-led strategy, expand its presence and leadership in the channel, and build and grow relationships with market leaders while increasing revenue in the channel.”
Strubel said his goal is to strengthen Commvault’s global partner community by developing new partners, growing its relationships within the existing channel business and making it “even easier and more profitable for Commvault’s channel partners to help their clients simplify data protection, management and activation” with its data platform.
“Scott’s role is key to helping Commvault grow and expand its presence and leadership in the channel, and his experience in building and growing relationships with market leaders will be a great asset to Commvault and its partner-led strategy,” said Owen Taraniuk, Commvault’s head of worldwide partnerships and market development. “His appointment represents Commvault’s continued commitment to partners and is yet another indicator of how the company is investing heavily in growing revenue in the channel.”
