New Talari Networks Branch Appliance Promotes SD-WAN Scalability

Talari Networks has unveiled a new product to scale its software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) offering.

The San Jose, California-based vendor introduced the E50 appliance, which it says helps customers in small branch locations and retail sites to deploy SD-WANs. Talari says the new offering follows the trend of companies using “zero-touch provisioning” to connect WANs to cloud, SaaS environments or data centers. The E50 increases the speed of service delivery and removes complexity from management and administration, according to Talari.

“Enterprises and [managed network service providers] can now provide greater network bandwidth and increased resiliency for edge traffic with visibility and analytics that ensure a superior user quality of experience,” said Atchison Frazer, Talari’s head of worldwide marketing. “By simplifying perimeter deployment and management for logical hub-and-spoke networks, the E50 gives network administrators the services elasticity they need to offer low-cost WAN connectivity for customers with remote sites and limited IT resources.”

Talari says the E50 enables firewall, routing, WAN Optimization, network-address translation and IPsec termination in order to decrease device sprawl. The three stated technological advantages are quality-based routing, packet duplication and seamless failover. The company says partners can use the new offering to decrease costs for bandwidth and operations and collaborate with more than one service provider.

The company, which was founded in 2007, is doubling down on its indirect sales efforts. Its new CEO tells us that Talari will be “100-percent channel-driven.”
