The partner community will recognize Minner from roles at various companies doing business in the channel, including Momentum and Cbeyond. Most recently he was a vice president with Denver-based MHO Networks, a provider of dedicated internet access and metro Ethernet.
UCx is a cloud-based unified communications service that TPx has “purpose-built to support an increasingly mobile and dispersed workforce.”
“We knew that UCx would be one of the keystones supporting our strategic plan to cement TPx into the front rank of national managed services companies,” said TPx CEO Dick Jalkut. “We don’t want to just be a carrier that’s good at UC. We want to be the best UC provider in the country. We do that by being UC experts and taking great care of our customers, but also by leveraging our network expertise and ability to provide complete one-stop solutions that include connectivity and our deep portfolio of managed IT services.”
The UCx line came to TPx via its acquisition of DSCI a year ago. The company has been focused on integrating that with its own cloud services over the past several months.
“I’ve always loved challenges, but some more than others,” said Minner. “The ones that, not surprisingly, are the most attractive are the ones of opportunity. Today there’s a sea change in how businesses use communications that creates huge new opportunities to rewrite the leaderboard. The UCx line of solutions is incredibly powerful, but even more attractive to me was the total package that TPx is able to offer customers — one-stop shopping, supported by a DNA built around customer service. Deciding to take this opportunity wasn’t even a close call because of the combination of people, product and performance.”
