The offering increases the performance and reliability of traditional enterprise applications, SaaS applications and virtual desktops over any network, while simplifying the branch network, RapidScale said.
“The NetScaler SD-WAN product line has numerous advantages over the competition such as single-pane-of-glass management, real-time path selection, packet duplication, and zero-touch provisioning, to name a few,” said Duane Barnes, RapidScale’s senior vice president of technology. “With this service, customers can future proof their networks, choose whichever carrier they wish, and add or remove carriers at any time with no impact to production operations. Given that we are carrier-agnostic, we can deploy these appliances anywhere, on anyone’s cloud or network, and the customer will get best-of-breed results.”
The new addition to RapidScale’s portfolio integrates with RapidScale’s Citrix-powered desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) offering CloudDesktop, accelerating, controlling and optimizing the virtual desktop and application experience.
“We’re excited that RapidScale has chosen to incorporate Citrix NetScaler SD-WAN into their solution portfolio,” said Chalan Aras, Citrix’s vice president of NetScaler SD-WAN products. “Adding SD-WAN is a great way for RapidScale to expand their product offering, enhance their other services, and increase their customer satisfaction. NetScaler SD-WAN delivers applications to users over any type of connection and ensures a high-quality user experience for video, voice and virtual applications and desktops, which makes it an ideal solution for Citrix partners.”
NetScaler SD-WAN also adds value to Skype for Business audio and video calls, which, along with many other applications, rely on low-latency networks to deliver “an exceptional user experience,” RapidScale said. This allows RapidScale to use the best of multiple internet connections to deliver calls using the “fastest connection at any given moment, ultimately providing the best user experience possible,” it said.
