Adding Lifesize gives partners an integrated, cloud-based application and connected conference room devices for audio, video and web conferencing alongside ScanSource’s support services, the company said.
“As the hosted video-conferencing market continues to grow, our partners are looking for additional ways to deliver video solutions to fit their varying customer needs,” said Rich Long, ScanSource’s president. “The Lifesize portfolio will be a strong addition to our video solutions offerings within our ProAV practice.”
The move addresses growing customer demand for hosted and cloud video services, as well as plug-and-play HD camera and HD conference phone systems for any meeting room, ScanSource said. These offerings will allow resellers to round out their video collaboration portfolios to provide “complete customer solutions.”
“As today’s workforce becomes more geographically distributed, there is a growing need for more effective virtual collaboration — a gap that video conferencing is uniquely poised to fill,” said Tim Maloney, Lifesize’s senior vice president of worldwide channels. “Partnering with ScanSource broadens our global reach substantially and enables us to provide more companies across the world a collaboration solution that addresses the needs of their IT administrators and end users alike with unmatched flexibility, reliability and security.”
To complement the addition of Lifesize, ScanSource also will provide services to help resellers grow and optimize their business in the AV marketplace, including education and training, technical services, marketing support and demo equipment. This partnership will allow customers to buy comprehensive video-conferencing products and services for all needs — from one source, ScanSource said.
