This is Intermedia’s first acquisition since Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) became its private equity sponsor early this year. Intermedia has more than tripled in size in the past five years, driving annualized revenue beyond $200 million.
Michael Gold, Intermedia’s CEO, tells Channel Partners the technology that his company gains from the acquisition and integration of services will provide its more than 6,500 active channel partners the opportunity to expand both revenue and margin. Partners will be able to offer a broader set of functionality and integrated collaboration capabilities, with the ability to sell a suite of UC offerings under their own brand, he said.
“Because this acquisition broadens Intermedia’s UCaaS offerings, SMBs and the channel partners that serve them will benefit from an even more robust UC experience on top of the extremely popular cloud voice solution that Intermedia currently provides,” he said. “Additionally, the AnyMeeting team brings deep experience in developing web, video and audio conferencing solutions, which will provide an integrated communication and collaboration experience for our users, delivering a highly reliable, flexible and scalable UC solution versus other solutions on the market today.”
Intermedia bought all AnyMeeting assets, including its technology and customer relationships. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AnyMeeting’s existing services will continue to be available with no interruption, Gold said. Available by early next year, the new integrated offering will provide AnyMeeting customers the opportunity to add voice services to their AnyMeeting applications, he said.
“The first step of integrating AnyMeeting’s web conferencing, video conferencing and webinar services within Intermedia’s offering will be to make them available through our partner portal,” he said.
AnyMeeting does not have a channel program, Gold said. Most of its customer base comes from direct and website sales expanding through viral and social promotions, he said.
