VeloCloud Networks is teaming with four more security vendors for the company’s software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) offering.
VeloCloud on Monday announced that Palo Alto Networks, Symantec, VMware and Forcepoint have joined the company’s SD-WAN Security Technology Partner Program. IBM Security, Check Point Software Technologies, Zscaler and Fortinet were already part of the group.
The technology partners comprise a security framework that covers network, cloud and management. Customers working with VeloCloud can integrate any of the eight security partners’ technologies with VeloCloud’s SD-WAN.
“The addition of more industry leaders to the expanding VeloCloud SD-WAN security ecosystem is an indication of the importance of tighter integration between the leading SD-WAN and security solutions,” VeloCloud CEO and co-founder Sanjay Uppal said. “Enterprises want to realize the tremendous business benefits that SD-WAN delivers without any compromise in security, and this ecosystem of the industry’s elite enables them to accomplish that goal.”
VeloCloud is adding threat intelligence from Palo Alto, advanced cloud security from Forcepoint, network functions virtualization (NFV) from VMware, and a cyber defense platform from Symantec. VeloCloud is a member of the Palo Alto, Symantec and VMware technology partner programs.
VeloCloud launched its technology partner program in April. Mike Wood, VeloCloud vice president of marketing, says his company’s channel partners now have a deeper portfolio to offer.
“Channel partners, including system integrators, value-added resellers, service providers and managed service providers, are able to lead with confidence when implementing VeloCloud Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN with best-of-breed on-premises and cloud security,” Wood said. “Channel partners are exceeding their customers’ security-pFosture requirements while delivering a wide area network which delivers performance, reliability and throughput necessary for cloud and on-premises applications.”
Wood spoke to Channel Partners two months ago how VeloCloud’s channel program has changed in the last year. The SD-WAN vendor has become more selective in recruiting new partners.
