Navisite, a premier VMware cloud provider, is launching a program that gives early access to its managed services for the VMware-native cloud-based replication and disaster-recovery capabilities in VMware vSphere and VMware vCloud Availablility for vCloud Director.
Navisite, part of Charter’s Spectrum Enterprise, made the announcement ahead of next week’s VMworld in Las Vegas. Today’s news complements the vendor’s recent launch of the VMware NSX network and security virtualization platform.
With Navisite’s VMware cloud services, running VMware vCloud Availability for vCloud Director, Navisite clients will be able to test replicated environments and move applications seamlessly while production is actively running.
“Our clients have been looking for a native solution to replicate and migrate protected virtual machines to the cloud, without the need for costly dedicated hardware or complicated third-party solutions,” said Sumeet Sabharwal, group vice president and general manager with Navisite, adding that the spike in recent cyberattacks and ransomware has spurred interest in cloud replication disaster-recovery implementations.
The Navisite VMware vCloud Availability for vCloud Director-based replication service provides clients with a simple and a cost-effective solution to enable availability of their VMware environments, the company said.
