Effortless Hires Former Rackspace, Broadvoice Execs to Lead Channel Sales

Cloud and security provider Effortless Office has appointed Chris Simmons, previously with Rackspace and Level 3 Communications, as senior vice president of channel sales, and Cathe Shandle, previously with Broadvoice, as a new regional director of channel sales.

In this new role, Simmons will spearhead an ongoing expansion by further developing key master agency partnerships, business development and scaling the Effortless Channel Partner program nationally. He previously was channel sales manager III at Rackspace, and has helped lead channel sales for Level 3, TW Telecom and TelePacific (now TPx Communications).

“With Chris’ experience and proven track record of delivering results, he will provide key contributions in ushering Effortless through this expansion,” said Benjamin Gayheart, Effortless’ founder and CEO. “It was a natural decision to appoint Chris as senior vice president channel sales and bestow our trust in his ability to build a strong and effective team.”

Shandle will be responsible for supporting Effortless’ channel partners and accounts across the West Coast region. She most recently was regional channel manager at Broadvoice, and her previous experience includes AT&T Wireless, Nextlink-XO Communications, Equiinet and PSI Network.

With extensive experience in cloud and communications, she brings a “unique vision and knowledge to the areas of channel team development, account management and client relationship building,” Effortless said.

“I am excited to be joining Effortless at such an exciting point in history,” she said. “With a 19 percent growth rate in cloud computing [as predicted by Gartner] over the next three years, we have an incredible opportunity to build meaningful solutions with Effortless – a company that was once ahead of its time, but is fast becoming an industry standard.”

In response to increased sales volumes, Effortless has also hired several new channel managers and national channel managers.
