Pax8, a Connecticut-based value-added cloud distributor, gets access to all of Datto’s offerings, which include disaster-recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS), managed networking and cloud-to-cloud backup. Ryan Walsh, Pax8’s senior vice president of partner solutions, says his company is realigning to give MSPs a “one-stop destination” for Datto offerings. Pax8 says it wants to be the main source of enablement and support that MSPs go to after purchasing products from Datto.
“The partnership with Datto will provide MSPs worldwide with enablement, support, and access to our dedicated Cloud Solutions Advisors, billing, and provisioning,” Walsh said. “As the experts in enabling MSPs to profitably grow their cloud businesses, we look forward to helping them add new monthly recurring revenue with the award-winning suite of Datto solutions.”
Pax8 cites a Gartner study that projects DRaaS to grow at 25 percent over the next two years and surpass the market size of traditional disaster recovery services. Walsh explained in Channel Partners’ latest podcast that Pax8 was “born in the cloud.” Read Lynn Haber’s interview with Walsh and Pax8’s new director of emerging channel about the company’s partner strategy.
“Pax8 has been able to capture the attention of the MSP community serving SMBs because they truly understand how to enable them to grow their businesses with the cloud,” said Janson Hoambrecker, vice president of strategic partnerships at Datto. “The strategic partnership with Pax8 will help us better serve the partner community so they can grow and scale faster. We look forward to the impact this will have on the MSP businesses throughout the IT channel and the DRaaS market overall.”
Datto says it provides business continuity solutions for more than 50,000 business customers. It announced the top 10 challenges for MSPs earlier this year.
The companies made the announcement at CompTIA’s ChannelCon. Follow @craig_Galbraith for updates from the show.
