Velostrata, the cloud migration and workload mobility provider, has launched its first global partner program, formalizing the work it has been doing with a growing network of partners during the past year.
Velostrata’s partner program is tier-based, with no annual fees. Partners are eligible for a range of sales, marketing, technical and training benefits to help achieve business goals. Founding members include myCloudDoor, Inframon, Sol-Tec and others, the company said.
Jan Poczobutt, Velostrata’s vice president of sales and partnerships, tells Channel Partners that many enterprises are using SIs, consultants and other technology experts to help with migration, and his company is “rapidly becoming a key member of that ecosystem as a platform to speed and simplify cloud migration.”
“As a company, we needed a well-defined program to help partners bring Velostrata to their customers,” he said. “Velostrata has established partnerships in several tiers. Strategic partnerships with companies like AWS and Microsoft provide technical integration and go-to-market support. This partner program is designed to support relationships with systems integrators and resellers who support customers directly in the field, often working in tandem with our strategic partners.”
For partners who are helping customers with migration, using the Velostrata platform can increase the speed of migration, reduce the labor needed to manage migration and improve project profitability, Poczobutt said. Also, Velostrata’s ability to “test before you migrate” without taking production applications offline can reduce risk and help partners offer broader services to their customers, he said.
In addition, Velostrata software makes it possible to move workloads back on premises, creating an opportunity for a partner to offer ongoing workload mobility services, he said.
“As we are learning from our many customer and partner engagements, partners have been struggling with agent-based and replication-based migration tools that were initially designed to handle backup or disaster recovery,” Poczobutt said. “These tools are simply not scalable for mass migration or production applications, and partners and customers are seeing projects fall significantly behind schedule. Velostrata was designed specifically to support enterprise cloud migration and workload mobility, giving partners a scalable platform that keeps customer timelines and costs on track.”
“By partnering with Velostrata, we are able to deliver a differentiated, highly value-added solution to the market which will enable us to continue to grow our cloud practice,” said Jose Hernandez, myCloudDoor’s CEO. “With Velostrata, we gain the ability to migrate even the most complex, multi-tier applications like SAP with speed and simplicity.”
