CompTIA CHANNELCON — Two new best business practices for partners– CompTIA Channel Standard for Cybersecurity and the CompTIA Channel Standard for Managed Print Providers – were rolled out today by the vendor neutral technology trade association CompTIA.
Coinciding with the organization’s ChannelCon 2016, Breaking Boundaries themed event being held August 1 – 3 in Hollywood, Florida, the best business practices are available free of change to CompTIA registered users, premier members and non-members.
CompTIA Channel Standard for Cybersecurity leverages the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity and provides intelligent business practices for the five pillars of cybersecurity: identify, protect, detect, respond and recover.
Partners will find that the new CompTIA Channel Standard for Cybersecurity could help them design plans and processes in response to cyber incidents.{ad}
Put together with CompTIA’s IT Security Community, the new standard provides not only best practices but also workbook to help with clarification of goals, how to implement those goals, review of a partner firms existing cybersecurity procedures, and, how to understand the types of plans that industry experts recommend, according to the organization.
Covering four vital business functions – business generation, delivery and operations, customer relations, and business direction – the new CompTIA Channel Standard for Managed Print Providers was designed to help partners with technical proficiency, marketing, benchmarking, customer relations and support, and business management, according to Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education at CompTIA.
The trade association recommends using these new standards in conjunction with the existing CompTIA Channel Standard for IT Solution Provides for a more robust best practice scenario for the four vital business functions:
This new standard also includes a workbook that’s designed to help managed print provider firms for self-evaluation, to assist with business practices, explanation and clarification of the best practices, questions to consider; and recommended practices.
