Zerto, the disaster-recovery provider, has a new face in charge of expanding its channel presence.

Cowie most recently led global channels and alliances for Virtual Instruments. He also has worked for Drive Protected, ITscape, Embotics and Configuresoft. He said he chose Zerto because of the business value it provides in disaster recovery.

“The ability to recover to seconds before an outage or data loss, together with application protection and mobility gives businesses the confidence to move forward,” he said.

“I am excited about the opportunity to help an already expanding company maximize its reach around the globe,” he said.

Zerto said it is increasing investments in partner resources, consistently growing recruitment rates since 2009.

“Zerto’s commitment to sell exclusively through channel partners has resulted in over 100 percent year-over-year sales growth for four consecutive years, which is a result of attracting top talent to continue that growth pace,” said Zerto President Paul Zeiter.

Cowie started his job at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference this week.

Zerto announced a new $20 million in Series E1 financing last month, saying its total growth fund has reached $70 million.
