Cohesity has appointed VMware’s Frank Rauch as an adviser to its sales and channel teams on go-to-market strategies and field operations.

VMware's Frank RauchRauch currently serves as vice president, Americas Partner Organization at VMware, a Cohesity technology partner. He remains full-time in his role at VMware, but will be an active adviser to Cohesity.

Rauch tells Channel Partners that he accepted the advisory position because he believes “Cohesity is in a unique position to create tremendous customer and partner value in the secondary storage market with [its] pioneering approach of tackling key data-management issues.”

“I’m excited to be part of this new, innovative movement that brings much-needed organization to growing data sprawl while partnering with VMware,” he said. “I look forward to helping Cohesity develop a comprehensive go-to market strategy and execution model.

With VMware, Rauch leads initiatives in the company’s channel coverage and expands the services mix for its channel partners. He has more than 20 years of experience in both direct sales and channel programs.{ad}

“Today, enterprises face enormous challenges due to the rising volume of unstructured data,” he said. “Traditional methods have resulted in fragmented storage architecture that’s expensive and difficult to manage. In my role, I’ll help Cohesity develop a strategy to continue to demonstrate the value of hyperconvergence for secondary storage to the channel and customers.”

“This is a critical and exciting time for our company as demand for intelligent, unified and efficient secondary storage solutions continues to grow,” said Mohit Aron, Cohesity’s CEO and founder. “Frank’s deep experience in sales, both direct and across the channel, will be invaluable as we continue to meet this demand with the Cohesity Data Platform.”
