PRESS RELEASE — Campbell, CA – July 7, 2016CloudBolt, a leader in cloud management technology, today announced a new version of the CloudBolt Cloud Management Platform. The latest version adds  powerful new cloud management capabilities including auto-scaling, cloud bursting, more sophisticated service blueprints, and direct support for f5 and HA Proxy load balancers to help enterprises manage their increasingly complex hybrid cloud environments using DevOps best practices. CloudBolt 6.0 also delivers improved reporting and deeper public cloud integrations, adding support for Microsoft Azure ARM and improved support for GCE and Oracle Public cloud.

“With a growing number of public cloud platforms and the widespread adoption of cloud technologies, hybrid cloud is now much more complex,” said Jon Mittelhauser, CEO, CloudBolt. “CloudBolt 6.0 delivers a unique set of management tools that help large enterprises more easily launch and manage complicated hybrid cloud applications and services across a larger set of cloud providers and using more technologies.”

A leading hotel chain is currently using CloudBolt 6.0 to deploy, scale, manage, and decommission 40+ node Apache Hadoop clusters into the public cloud. This allows developers and other users to quickly obtain on-demand environments so they can develop and improve business applications efficiently and cost-effectively, without any artificial delays of waiting for another team to provide them with resources.{ad}

Reduce Cloud Expenditures with Auto-Scaling and Cloud Bursting

With auto-scaling and cloud bursting, IT teams can optimize their use of public cloud resources by automatically detecting when an internally hosted application is under load and temporarily scaling it into a public cloud provider to supplement resources and maintain performance. Until now, these methods have been limited to large IT organizations because it requires a comprehensive management solution that spans all relevant technologies and integrated networking, OS, and application provisioning.

CloudBolt’s unique, tech-agnostic approach to auto-scaling and cloud bursting, and cloud management, enables IT teams to build and rebuild VMs in an automated fashion, eliminating the need for complicated and resource-intensive migration of live VMs from one technology to another. These same CloudBolt blueprints can be deployed and scaled into different environments and technologies, enabling both the initial automated provisioning and cross-technology auto-scaling.

CloudBolt customers can define tiers within services that can be deployed to VMware, Azure, OpenStack, AWS, a physical server, or any of the other technologies CloudBolt supports. Similarly, CloudBolt can support different networking and configuration management technologies per-environment, enabling …

… heterogeneous management that is transparent to the end user. For more information on CloudBolt’s cloud bursting capability, watch this video:

With Support for 14  Cloud Platforms, CloudBolt Enables IT to Choose the Right Public or Private Cloud for the Job

CloudBolt continues to lead the way in enabling IT to deliver service agility and flexibility while still maintaining control over their multi-cloud environments. CloudBolt 6.0 features deeper integrations with leading public cloud environments with the addition of support for Microsoft Azure ARM and improved support for GCE and Oracle Public cloud. CloudBolt 6.0 supports six private and eight public cloud platforms.

Additionally, CloudBolt 6.0 includes improved integration with the Chef agent bootstrap process, making Chef deployments through CloudBolt more robust. CloudBolt will demo the latest version of its cloud management platform at ChefConf in Austin, TX July 11 to 13th at booth #127.

Enhanced Reporting

CloudBolt 6.0 adds a cost dashboard report, which is a single page visualization of IT spend across different environments by different groups over time. Admins can quickly identify which systems are most expensive and take action based on this information.

CloudBolt 6.0 also introduces a recently built servers report and custom server reporting capability, which IT administrators and managers can use to understand and export server data, segmented and filtered however they choose, allowing them to understand how users and groups are utilizing computing resources, giving them better data for combating VM sprawl, recommending better usage patterns, and making capacity planning decisions.
