Microsoft's Gavriella SchusterLong-term Microsoft executive Gavriella Schuster is the software giant’s new global channel chief, taking over the helm from Phil Sorgen, who held the position for just over two years. In May, Sorgen became the corporate vice president of the U.S. enterprise and partner group.

Just a couple of years ago, Sorgen handpicked Schuster for the newly created role of general manager of worldwide partner programs. Today, she wears the title of corporate vice president for Microsoft’s worldwide partner group. In her new role, she’s responsible for setting the strategy for Microsoft’s partner ecosystem with a focus on driving digital transformation for partners and customers.

Schuster has worked at Microsoft since November 1995 when she held the title of program manager for the Certified Technical Education Center (CTEC) program, followed by a number of positions along the way with job responsibilities that included program deployments and product initiatives, licensing, pricing and go-to-market strategies.{ad}

During Schuster’s time at Microsoft, she has gained experience in multiple business areas, i.e. server and cloud, Windows client commercial business and enterprise services, to name a few, and has years of experience working with Microsoft channel partners, the company said.

“There has never been a more exciting time to help our partners capitalize on the explosive demand for cloud services,” Schuster wrote in a recent blog. “Our partners are vital in helping us deliver on our promise to customers, and I’m deeply committed to helping them build successful businesses in support of our mutual customers.”
