Acronis Rolls Out New Partner Program to Increase Cloud Data Protection Services Market Share

Acronis, a global provider of cloud and on-premises disaster recovery and data protection services, this week announced a new partner program specifically for cloud.

An extension of the Acronis Global Partner Program, the Partner Program for Cloud is designed to accelerate cloud data protection services revenue with a subscription model for service providers, distributors and cloud resellers. Acronis said the program provides services, resources, programs and incentives to help partners profit from the “huge market growth predicted for cloud data protection services, which include backup, disaster recovery, and file sync and share.”

According to IDC, the data protection and disaster recovery software market will grow to $8.1 billion by 2019.

John Zanni, Acronis’ chief marketing officer and senior vice president of channel and cloud strategy, tells Channel Partners the new program addresses the needs of distributors, service providers and cloud resellers by “allowing them to expand their cloud portfolios and increase their services revenue with a leading solution for data protection.”

“The expectation is to help hundreds of partners transition to the Acronis Cloud portfolio,” he said. “One of the goals is to bring on additional cloud partners. We’re primarily targeting providers of hosted, managed and telco services while helping more traditional solution providers move quickly into offering services.”{ad}

The program supports any deployment model, including service provider-hosted, Acronis-hosted and hybrid, and any business model with licensing flexibility, according to the company. This includes turnkey cloud data protection services with minimal integration, as well as offerings that are more deeply integrated into partner technology and services portfolios.

The program uses multiple tiers to distinguish and reward a partner’s sales performance, certification commitment and marketing collaboration. Incentives include stackable profit margins, incremental margins for deal registration, rebates and incremental accelerators. In addition, it features simplified partner onboarding, free web-based sales tools and enablement programs, technical training, marketing programs and demand generation support, as well as co-op and market development fund programs.

“The new Acronis Partner Program for Cloud allows us to build on our growing Acronis Cloud business by rapidly bringing proven data protection services to market in a way that easily plugs into our technology environment and existing business model,” said Charles Grau, vice president of IT and operations at United Data Technologies (UDT).

Acronis’ goal is to “bring thousands of new service provider partners and cloud resellers onboard worldwide in 2016,” Zanni said.
